Other Ways to Get Involved

Although our main purpose is to put on two productions a year, we understand not everyone can make this commitment. But never fear, the Opening Knights got your back and have plenty of other activities you can attend! 

Our Yearly Schedule

  • Early September: Welcome to Drama Club Karaoke Picnic​​      Come meet everyone in the club as we start our new school year together with some songs, food, and games.

  • Mid-September: Fall Show Auditions + Tech Interviews            Come out and show us what you got; We'll be happy to use your skills.

  • Pre-Performance (Fall & Spring) Show Promotion Library Event   Journey on down to the Eldersburg Library as we organize fun musical/play related activities and perform scenes from our current production! All families in the community are invited. 

  • During Show weeks (Fall & Spring): Volunteer for the shows            Help usher the audience, hand out programs, sell some merch, or work concessions. We appreciate the help, and you can earn service hours.

  • Early December: Spring Show Auditions + Tech Interviews    Please join our company in our second show! If you unfortunately didn't make it last time, please don't be afraid to come try out again. We're always looking to add new pizazz to our productions.

  • Late April/ Early May: Club Field Trip                                Sometimes we follow the yellow brick road to see a musical on Broadway, other times we say Good Morning Baltimore and watch a more local show. Wherever we end up going, we hope you can join us on our trip to go see a professional production. 

  • Late April/ Mid-May: CCPS Drama Fest                                   Every year all of the CCPS drama clubs get together at Carroll Community College to show off our talent and cheer on our fellow Thespians in mini performances of our most recent shows.  ​​

  • Late April/Mid-May: CCPS Show Tour                                    Come travel along with us to watch our neighboring high school's Spring Productions. *Shoutout to the Liberty HS Pride Players and the South Carroll Stage Lighters*

  • Late May: End of Year Drama Banquet & ITS Inductions     Invite your family to our celebration of a year well done. During this event we have our International Thespian Society Inductions, present our yearly theatrical awards, declare the scholarship winners and announce the shows chosen for next year's show season!

Besides acting or being a part of crew for a show, here are some other production related jobs you can apply for!

  • Opening Knights Student Marketing team

    • Work with our social media, sponsors and our website design​​.

  • Student Set Design Consultant 

    • Help draw out ideas for our set and help bring them to life during set builds​.

  • School Wide Advertisement Crew

    • Design and create our Font of House bulletin board​ and hang posters around CHS.
